How Do I Use The LG LGMV Service Tool?

What is the LGMV Service Tool?

LG Monitoring View (LGMV) is a web-based software tool that allows users to remotely monitor and manage LG HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) systems. It allows users to view real-time data, such as temperature, humidity, and energy consumption, and to adjust settings, such as temperature and fan speed, remotely. It also provides alerts and notifications for system maintenance and troubleshooting. It is typically used by facility managers and HVAC technicians to optimize the performance of their LG HVAC systems and to reduce energy consumption and costs. The LG tool can also be used to diagnose error codes and more accurately diagnose problems with LG Branded HVAC units.

What is the difference between the PRCTIL0 and the PLGMVW100

The PRCTLI0 is the laptop version of the tool and will only work with a desktop or laptop computer.

The PLGMVW100 is the mobile version of the tool and will only with a tablet/Mobile Device.

Each tool has it's own set of minimum requirements that your device must meet to use the tool, such as ram size, age of computer or tablet, etc.

The difference between the laptop and tablet version of LG Monitoring View for LG HVAC is primarily in the user interface and the level of functionality available.

The laptop version of LG Monitoring View is designed for use with a web browser and typically offers a more robust and detailed interface with more advanced features. This version includes access to advanced reporting, scheduling, and control options, as well as the ability to access and analyze historical data. It also allows multiple users to access the system simultaneously and have different level of permissions.

The tablet version of LG Monitoring View, on the other hand, is designed for use on mobile devices such as tablets and smartphones and typically offers a more simplified and streamlined interface. This version may have more limited functionality, but it is optimized for use on smaller screens and for users who need to access the system while on-the-go.

Overall, the laptop version is more suitable for facility managers and HVAC technicians who are responsible for managing and maintaining multiple HVAC systems, while the tablet version is more suitable for individual users who need to access the system remotely and make adjustments on the go.

How do I know if the LGMV tool will work on my unit?

Often, the tool will work with every unit simply by flipping the "dip switches" which can be found on the back of the tool.

Residential Customers should strongly consider involving a professional before attempting to purchase an LGMV and DIY this type of Repair.

What do I need to use the Tool ?

To use LG Monitoring View for LG HVAC, you will need:

  1. An LG HVAC system that is compatible with LG Monitoring View. You can check the compatibility of your system with the LG Monitoring View tool by consulting the product documentation or by contacting LG Tech Support.

  2. A computer or mobile device with internet access. The laptop version of LG Monitoring View can be accessed through a web browser, while the tablet version can be accessed through a mobile app.

  3. A BACnet/IP or Modbus IP communication protocol may need to be enabled on your HVAC system, which will allow the LG Monitoring View tool to communicate with your HVAC system and retrieve data.

  4. Internet Access as well as your unit's being connected to the internet is typically needed. Remote Access may require additional items, every site is different so we recommend contacting a professional or the LG Rep in your area.  Depending on the age of your unit, you may need an older version of the software. This can typically be provided by contacting LG Tech Support.

  5. If at any step of the way, you get tripped up. We recommend calling LG Tech Support, the Phone # is 888-346-1923.

How do I get the different versions of the LG Software that may be needed to use the tool on an older unit?

The software can be located by signing up at https://lghvac.com/mylg-hvac/.

We have also created an LGMV Dropbox which includes every version of the LG Tool Software ever recorded (to our knowledge). This is available with every purchase of the LGMV Tool from Rapidhvacparts.com for free. It is not available to anyone who is not a customer of Rapidhvacparts.com

LGMV - It says I need a Hard Lock?

The newest version of the PRCTIL0 has the Hard Lock BUILT IN to the connection cable. It is no longer a separate piece. If you get this error, you will need to adjust the dip switches found on the tool.

Generally, these are the dip switch settings recommended:

Dip Switch Settings:
No. 3 & 6 on - for indoor connection
No.4 on - for outdoor connection

Disclaimer: Please note that depending on the specific model and the features of your HVAC system, the requirements may vary. It is always best to consult the product documentation or contact LG customer support for information specific to your system. We are not LG Technicians and we do not recommend anyone undertake a repair they are not comfortable with or qualified to handle.
